- HUB CALLSIGN
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~
- When you enter your own callsign and IP address,
- NOSINST scans the supplied domain file for information
- regarding your local HUB station. If it does this but
- fails to fill in the HUB fields for you it means it is
- unable to suggest a "probable" HUB in your area. It
- doesn't mean there isn't one, just that the
- information available at the time of this release has
- probably changed.
-
- You should have been given information by your local
- IP coordinator about your local HUB. Indeed, your
- local HUB sysop may well have issued your address to
- you (not an uncommon occurrence since HUBs have
- "groups" of addresses associated with them. They can
- then keep track of them more reliably).
-
- If you do not have a HUB in your area, then, once you
- have gained some experience, you may wish to volunteer
- to do the job yourself! (Ask me what it's like first
- though... hi!).
-
- If there isn't a local HUB, or if you just don't know,
- press <F6> to deselect the "Use Hub" option. This will
- allow you to complete the installation but act as a
- stand-alone IP user. Later on you can ttylink to
- other stations and discuss the situation with them.
-
- With NOSINST you can easily re-install NOS once you
- have acquired the extra information you need.
